People published her works after her death. She was influenced by the poets of seventeenth-century England. Most of Dickinson's poems reflected her loneliness, and her stat of want.

Emily Dickinson seldom left her house, and she hadn't many friends throughout her life. But, there were three people who affected her life, and they were all related in Dickinson's poems. The one who stirred the emotion of Dickinson was Reverend Charles Wadsworth. The other was the Supreme Court Judge Otis P. Lord, and editor of Springfield Republican, Samuel Bowles.

Now that you have found some basic information, are you still interested in finding out more about this writer? I find myself using the word interesting many times when I write about these people, but I do find most writers to be interesting people. In the case of Dickinson, she lived a life that seems terribly isolated, and I wonder why she was driven to write as she did. She knew people, but she was almost a recluse. Her writings give us many clues as to what might have driven her. You do not have to take your research in this direction, but I could not resist showing you some of my own questions.
